| Hertford Choral Society has always
been enthusiastic about collaborating with other choirs and organisations.
For a number of years, the Society was one of the few choirs singing
for the Ernest Read Music Association Christmas Concerts in the
Royal Festival Hall, London. They also sang in the Vellore concerts
at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
The Hertford Choral Society also played a key
part in establishing the relationship with Hertford’s twin
town in Germany – Wildeshausen (near Bremen). Concerts have
been given over the years with the Kantorei from the Alxanderkirche
(in Wildeshausen) both in Hertford and in Wildeshausen.
The Hertford Choral Society has occasionally
promoted concerts by other groups – for example, the Gospel
Choir from Wildeshausen.
In the summer of 2005, the Hertford Choral Society
joined with the Ely Choral Society to give a concert in Ely Cathedral.
The programme was Jenkins Suite from the Armed Man and Tippett A
Child of Our Time. |
